Wilson AP Physics : PLAYGROUND PHYSICS
OBJECTIVES:
To make accurate measurements of rotational motion in a
neighborhood park
Specifically :
SEESAW
1.
Determine the mass of a seesaw.
2.
?
Merry-go round
1.
Determine the Rotational Inertia, I and the Mass
of the spinning disk
Measure the change in angular
velocity ( angular acceleration) caused by several tangential forces applied to
the edge of the spinning disk
2.
Determine Frictional torque and force on the
axle of the spinning disk
Measure the angular acceleration
caused by that friction
