The BIG Push !: Pushing Me Around!
EXP 4: NEWTON'S SECOND LAW OF CARS
We measured that the ratio of Actual Push versus Push measure in lab was 0.76
We accelerated the car with constant (?) acceleration for 10 meters and measure the time of the push.
To do:
Download the data to your computer by clicking here: Car Push Lab Data
Open the Excel file or import into graphical analysis . Complete the table especially for Total Force and Acceleration.
Use this data to graphically find the mass of my car.
Show examples of each calculation.
Consider how many significant figures are really justified by our estimates.
Consider the range of uncertainty of each measurement.
Comment on: the accuracy of our approximations. Was the acceleration constant? Research the actual value.

Projectile Motion and 2-D Practice Problems
Here are a few questions from Knight to review your 2-d problem solving skills.
FOR EACH OF THESE PROBLEMS:
DRAW A PICTURE, SHOW THE SET UP,
SHOW THE RELEVANT EQUATIONS,
THEN SHOW ALL WORK NEEDED. IF YOU GET STUCK, TRY A DIFFERENT APPROACH.
STILL STUCK- MOVE ON AND WE CAN PROBLEM SOLVE ON MONDAY.
Do these:Chapt 4: 41, 47, 49, 51, 55, 85
Challenge questions.
Chapt 4 78 - 82 do 2 of them
Super bonus challenge: 83, 84 optional
Projectile Motion (2-D) has arrived
Projectile Motion Lab: This weekend looks like good launching weather.
You self designed PML should be underway with data analysis and problem solving.
Remember, your goal is to conduct as complete analysis as possible for motion in 2D.
Include:
•Detailed tables containing all relevant data.
•Graphs of X vs. time, Y vs. time and trajectory graphs Y vs X.
•Presentation of how you found and calculated the initial velocity and launch angle.
Analysis:
•Using your data try to use it to answer some interesting questions (i.e. that are interesting to you)
Addtional graphs should be included between any variable that you changed and resultant
We will discuss how your lab report will be Concluded in class 10-10.
